A mother filed a report with the Norphlet Police Department after her 11-year-old son and multiple witnesses stated a Norphlet Elementary School coach handled the boy roughly when he believed the student to be talking badly about his child — also a student at the school.
According to a report for third-degree assault (a class C misdemeanor) with the Union County Sheriff’s Office, the coach allegedly grabbed the boy by the arm, pushed him down on a picnic bench, yelled at him and then shoved him into a fence before walking him by the arm to the principal’s office for being disrespectful.
Superintendent Albert Snow said Principal Robert Wright investigated the incident and then handled it through the school system. No arrests were made through the NPD or the UCSO.
The boy’s mother advised that she is filing an affidavit with the 13th district judicial prosecuting attorney’s office.
I can’t believe that they didn’t make an arrest and they are trying to handle a criminal act through the school.
If the Prosecutor’s office doesn’t press charges it will not help Robin’s chances as a judge.
