Cotton slammed for former Internet distaste

A Republican hopeful for the Fourth District congressional race to replace U.S. Rep. Mike Ross was slammed today for writing 13 years ago that he thought linking schools and libraries to the Internet was a “horrible idea.”

The Democratic Party of Arkansas did a bit of digging and pulled up an article written by Tom Cotton from his days at Harvard in which he wrote that he opposed a tax to subsidize access to Internet for school and library users, according to the Associated Press.

Cotton now says the Internet has become an essential educational tool.

It’s news that a Republican didn’t want our taxes raised 13 years ago? Seriously? Slow news day?

Thank you Democrats for showing us who we need to vote for. If you have to go back 13 years to find dirt on someone, and it’s something as stupid as this, then this has got to be one hell of a candidate that will blow anyone you have to offer out of the water.

That’s basically been Cotton’s response. The attacks show the strength of his campaign.
