Warrants issued for two LSU players in bar brawl

For their roles in a melee outside a Baton Rouge bar a week ago, this afternoon police obtained arrest warrants for two Louisiana State University football players for second-degree battery.

Jordan Jefferson and Joshua Johns were allegedly involved in a fight that left four people injured outside Shady’s on Aug. 19, according to The Associated Press.

The two have been suspended indefinitely and have been asked by their coach and attorney to turn themselves in.

Additionally, Chris Davenport and Jarvis Landry, also LSU players, have been identified as people of interest in the fight which resulted in injuries serious enough to require both hospital treatment and felony charges for the two men.

The setback for the team, which is set to open season on Sept. 3, comes on the heels of the suspension of Russell Shepard for violating school and NCAA rules, according to NOLA.com.
