Deep Six attorney cuts down director’s testimony

It’s another day of testimony that’s been anything but nice as Attorney for Deep Six Bob Honea attempts to chip away at the Oil and Gas Commission’s assertion that injecting fluid into the central Arkansas well is inducing earthquakes.

After attempting to have all testimony provided by Director Lawrence Bengal – who originally submitted the petition to shut the well down and create a moratorium on additional and existing disposal wells – Honea then questioned Bengal’s use of Dr. Steve Horton of the University of Memphis as his only expert advising on the creation of the petition.

Though Dr. Haydar Al-Shukri of UALR was originally hired to consult on the petition, his opinion differed from Horton’s in that he doesn’t see a correlation between the Deep Six well and the earthquakes recorded.

More to come.

How often does a governmental bureaucracy get it right? This is one time where I think they did. I’m glad for the citizen’s of Greenbriar and surrounding towns.
