In a concerted effort, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, El Dorado Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigations arrested an El Dorado woman on 10 drug-related charges Wednesday morning. In Union County District Court she was later issued a $1 million cash only bond (a rarity even in Van Hook’s courtroom).
The UCSO and EPD also picked up an El Dorado man Wednesday morning for six drug-related charges including endangering the welfare of his three minor children, all between the ages 7 and 11. He was later given a $20,000 cash or corporate surety bond.
More in tomorrow’s News-Times.
Way to go guys! Too bad they will be back out on the street in no time, probably even by now. The woman gets 1 Million bond for ten deliveries, and the second gets only 20,000 c/cs (or only $2,000 to a bail bondsman) with three endangering charges? THIS is what is wrong with our system.
This has been going on for 40 years at how many hundreds of billions, if not trillions of taxpayers dollars. As long as there is a demand for a product there will be those who will supply the product, any product.
