Tuition hikes seen statewide

After the University of Arkansas announced its intention to enact several tuition hikes, Arkansas State University followed suit, saying it will boost tuition 4 percent for students attending the Jonesboro campus.

Officials cite a drop in state funding for the rationale, according to swtimes.com — a sentiment that has been vocalized locally by South Arkansas Community College, which has also approved tuition increases between 4 and 5 percent for next year to deal with flat state funding.
