NWS confirms 100 yard tornado Tuesday

Reports from the National Weather Service confirmed today that an EF1 tornado, about 100 yards wide, touched down in Junction City and Lawson Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:15 p.m.

According to the report: “The tornado first touched down about four miles south southwest of Junction City, Ark., … in Union Parish, La., … And lifted 30 minutes later about two miles northeast of Lawson, Ark., … in Union County, Ark.”

The tornadoes damage was constricted to 100 yards in width but stretched on for 26 miles, snapping and uprooting trees and causing minor damage to six homes, stated the report.
