Hearing the tornado sirens for the first time last night was the most horrifying experience of my life to date (even if my neighbor got a good laugh at my panic — *rapidly knocking on her door* “What the heck is that noise?!”).
Today, however, the damage was not nearly as bad as it could have been with officials reporting the most battered areas in along Nick Springs Road in Lawson and Hibanks Road in El Dorado. Felled trees, downed power lines and several crushed homes and vehicles seemed to be the extent of the damage this morning in Lawson.
Countywide, no injuries have been reported.
According to the National Weather Service, 1.84 inches of rain was reported by the El Dorado Airport.
Entergy now reports 1,057 people countywide without power.
But to quote one of the Lawson residents this morning, “It could have been so much worse.”
