Congressional redistricting tanked again this morning with the “Fayetteville Finger” or “Fayetteville to the Fourth” getting more boos (not literally) and a plan by the Senate to draw up an option favorable enough to gain a passing vote.
Great for the fourth, though not for our tax dollars.
According to the Times Record, as opposed as we in the fourth are to moving Fayetteville here, the sentiment is echoed just as strongly in Fayetteville against being moved to the fourth with 83 percent strongly opposed to the bill.
“I’m not giving up on them getting it done this week,” Gov. Mike Beebe said. “I’m ever the optimist. I’m thinking surely they’ll come to a consensus at some point.”
And yet, the days of the calendar — and tax dollars spent to keep the session going — keep on ticking by without anything more than bickering among legislators.
