Batten down: Tornado warning issued

A tornado warning has been issued for El Dorado, Smackover, Magnolia and Norphlet. Reports coming over the scanner warn of a 60 mph tornado in Waldo headed this direction. Quarter-sized hail and high winds are expected.

UPDATE: Reports on the scanner put a tornado over Norphlet at 10:20 a.m.

UPDATE II: The tornado never touched down and damage was constricted to a one mile-swath in Norphlet along Highway 335. Similar damage was reported along Mount Holly Road in El Dorado. The approximate 850 power outages across the county has been taken down to 550 outages currently — the largest on North West Avenue affected 300 customers from 10:20 a.m. to 2:14 p.m.
