A “rocky road” for one state governmental branch

It’s a no brainer.

Gov. Mike Beebe who wants one tiny, itty bitty, miniscule, little tax cut on groceries. Or the General Assembly which can’t take a step forward or backward without tripping over another of its proposed tax cuts — many of which will only affect small (wealthy) portions of the population.

So who does the general public like more at the moment?

According to a Talk Business Network and Hendrix College poll, it’s Beebe by a long shot with a 62 percent approval rating versus the assembly which only garnered 29 percent in favor.

Nobody ever like the legislature except their own legislator. Look at the federal level the approval ratings are about the same as you see in the TBN/Hendrix poll.

In fact it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the majority of those polled weren’t thinking of the US Congress when they answered the way they answered.

It also wouldn’t surprise me if the majority of those polled either didn’t know the Arkansas legislature was in session or that they were ever out of session.

Why Lone Reader, are you insinuating that the general populace is uninformed as the workings and processes of our state and federal governments? I am shocked, truly.

I’m sorry my IS2000 Irony/Sarcasm meter isn’t functioning this morning. Please Allison, tell me you are kidding.

  4. Admin says:

Of course I’m kidding, but my IS2000 Irony/Sarcasm meter is always set to “high.”
