Union County school districts get thumbs up for MLK Day

In a list compiled by Blue Arkansas of school districts that acknowledge Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Union County does very well with four of the seven school districts making the cut.

Junction City, Norphlet, Smackover and Strong-Huttig school districts all appropriately name the day as MLK Day, as opposed to the list of schools that leave the day off their calendar or simply call it a “staff day.”

El Dorado, Mount Holly and Parkers Chapel were not listed either way as updated calendar information wasn’t available, according to the author.
