Former state Rep. Will Bond received the gubernatorial nod to replace outgoing Democratic Party chairman Todd Turner of Arkadelphia, according to NWAOnline.com.

Next up, he’ll have to pass cut the mustard with the party’s state committee.

Is passing mustard similar to passing gas? Or is it more along the lines of “Pass the salt, please”? LOL!

Thanks for brightening my day with that visual image! :)

Glad the visual imagery brightened your day GL717!

The phrase should be either “pass muster,” a military term meaning to pass inspection, or “cut the mustard” meaning perform satisfactorily. “Pass mustard” has no meaning unless Bond is having dinner with the party’s state committee and condiment handling somehow qualifies him for his new position.

So noted and updated, thank you.
