For the first time in 297 games, citing a hand injury from a tackle with the Redskins in week 12 and a shoulder injury resulting from a game against the Bills, Brett Favre did not start the game last night against the New York Giants.
At 41, Favre has been luckier than any other quarterback out there, somehow dodging serious injury time and time again, but sports analysts are now wondering if this could be the end of a more than 20-year career.
So what would have happened to Favre and the nation if the streak had never occurred? The Madden video game would have tanked? Favre forced to take up competitive lawn mower racing? The name “Farve” appears on the presidential ballot? These are just some of the answers that DJ Gallo of ESPN provides.
