A series of events hosted by the Black AIDS Institute will take place this weekend in Arkansas to bring the virus out from behind closed doors and into the spotlight with information, testing and a number of giveaways.
TV icon Kiki Shepard and spoken word artist Sonya Renee — both renown AIDS activists — will perform and speak at each event.
The tour will start out in Texarkana on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at the State Fairgrounds.
Friday two events will be hosted beginning in McGehee at the McGehee Desha County Hospital from 1-6 p.m. and then at the Philander Smith College in little Rock from 3-7 p.m.
The series will wrap up with two events on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and then from 1-5 p.m. at the Fairview Community Development Association Center at St. John in El Dorado.
