A final note

Today (Monday, Oct. 6) will be my last day at the News-Times. I have accepted a position at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette as a reporter in the Pine Bluff Bureau.

I want to extend my thanks and gratitude to those of you who have been valued contacts over the years, and to the readers.

El Dorado is a special place with great potential, and with the help and support of her people, great things are bound to come here.

I can write lengthy articles and works of prose, but when it comes to goodbyes, I am usually brief. I bid you all a fond farewell, and I hope that you will look for my byline in the Democrat-Gazette.

All the best,

John Worthen
