Can you draw? Do I have a project for you…
In conjunction with the new “We Promise” slogan, the city is now looking for a logo design that will go along with the promise brand and themelines, according the El Dorado Promise and Forward Marketing Director Cindy Langston.

Why is she still seeking a design for “We Promise”? Didn’t the council’s rejection of that themeline last week put the matter on the back burner?

This appears to be the highest form of arrogance. Forget what the elected officials say,” we know what is best”! If this continues there will be more conflict ahead for the EEDB. It is time for an evaluation of performance and a close review of expenditures.

It’s time for a vote of no confidence in Ms. Langston and Mr. Wales. How can she promote OUR community, OUR city and OUR school district when she doesn’t even LIVE HERE??? Talk about hypocritical! Joe 6-pack doesn’t know her and those that do know her, don’t want to work with her. The only way this community is ever going to “hold hands and sing KumBaYa” is with leadership that unites people, not divides them.

Unless she has recently moved a high member of the Chamber staff currently lives in a small community between Smackover and El Dorado that has a Leopard for a mascot. BTW her last name is not Pepsi.

Wow. Ok, so now we need an “immigration policy” of sorts for living in different towns in the same county?
Who gives a bleepity bleep where so-and-so lives. To call into question their motives, integrity, and/or skills based on where they live is the pinnacle of stupidity. Ms. Langston WORKS here, she goes to CHURCH here, and she is INVOLVED here. I could care less where the pillow she lays her head on at night is located.
Or maybe you want everyone with a city job to quit and leave town if they don’t live in the El Do city limits. God help us if that happens…

No, we don’t need an immigration policy. It’s just the epitome of hypocrisy when your JOB is to talk about how great El Dorado is (but you don’t choose to live here) and how great the school district is (but your children don’t live in the district). It’s like buying meat from a vegetarian - why should people care/believe someone who doesn’t use/enjoy the product? If El Dorado is such a great city of promise - - why doesn’t she live here?

Don’t fault the hypocrite - - that responsibility belongs to the one that hired her and permits her to peddle the Promiseland while living somewhere else. I too could care less where one resides, however the prevailing powers that placed the policies on the Promise chose to “require recipients to reside in the district.” If one truly believes in the Promise they will buy into the plan and relocate. Surly they reads their own publicity about housing prices going up. The premise of the program is to reverse population loss by growing new residents.

Gotta love the anonymity of the internet. People can jump on here and just spew crap about anyone they want to without fear of repercussion, and without any concern as to who they may hurt in the process.
I seriously doubt either one of you personally know the person you are labeling a hypocrite. People always have their reasons for doing (or not doing) something, whether it be professional, religious, family, financial, health, or even just bad timing. It doesn’t make them a hypocrite.
But please, go ahead and give us the address to your glass houses so that we can all see how perfect your lives are.
