I am really disgusted with the AIG retreat.

This morning, on the news (TV), mega stories regarding voter fraud and ALCORN. What gives? It seems that at least 6 states are finding fraud and yet there is no other news by any of the other media. Maybe I dreamt the whole story - did I?

While discuss is the logical reaction to the AIG retreat you need to keep in mind a few things. First, the bulk, and I mean $400k+ of the retreat had been prepaid. Second, this was a retreat for the company’s top producers who are pretty much independent agents like the guy that lives down the street from you. Fianally, the cost of that retreat was equal to about .0005% of the bailout.
Remember, most of AIG was and still is a sound successful company.

If most of AIG was and still is a sound successful company, what was the reason for the bailout? From my understanding, pre-paid or not, the $400k spa retreat was for CEO’s and employees by AIG. It really doesn’t matter that the cost of the retreat was equal to about .0005% of the bailout. $400k is a lot of money to be spending on something so frivelous on the wake of the bailout.
