Union County is still under a flash flood warning.
Current rainfall amounts, according to the Arkansas Forestry Service, for Union County are as follows:
From 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. this morning, 3.6 inches of rain fell. Between Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon, 3.7 inches fell.
According to the Arkansas State Police, U.S. 167 between Hampton and Thornton, going toward Fordyce, is barricaded but passible at this time. A spokesman for the ASP said that several inches of water are over the road there, but “it’s still safe to travel through as long as you slow down.”
Arkansas 160 between Hampton and Jersey is closed at this time.
The ASP said that several trees down on U.S. 82 East near Strong made that road impassable for a time. The road is open now.
In north Ouachita County, the city of Bearden has severe flooding issues. Water is near the doors of several homes there. School is cancelled in Hampton and will be letting out at 1 p.m. in Bearden.
