CNN reports today that the man who walked into a Missouri city council chamber and killed five people did so out of anger at city officials who kept ticketing his commercial vehicles.
This according to suspect Charles Lee Thornton’s brother, CNN reported. Thornton was killed by police officers at the scene. Click here for more.
The incident happened in Kirkwood, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis.
“My brother went to war tonight with the government,” Gerald Thornton said in an interview with a local television station after the incident. “He decided that he could no longer verbally work it out.”
My question is why aren’t metal detectors installed in all city halls across the country? Anyone think we need them locally? Judging from the unruly subjects that often attend our local meetings, maybe we should think about it.
